Trimming your candle wick down to 1/4 inch before burning and in-between burns can help you to prevent problems like black smoking flames, flames that are too tall and unsightly soot stains on the inside of your candle container.

If there is ever any ‘mushrooming’ on the tip of the wick after burning, always trim the tip of the wick before lighting up again.
